Exceptional Education

Special Education Program:
Rock Point Community School provides extra services for students with disabilities to help them learn. Our program is in place to provide additional services, support, programs, specialized placements or environments to ensure that all our student’s educational need are provided for. Special education is provided to our qualifying students at no cost to the parents. Some students have special learning needs and Rock Point Community School addresses these needs through special education. Students qualifying for special education support have needs that will often require support that goes beyond what normally offered or received in the regular school/classroom setting.

Gifted/Talented Program:

The purpose of Gifted and Talented education at Rock Point Community School is to recognize and develop the exceptional qualities and talents of students. Over the past three decades the Rock Point educational system has accepted the responsibility and challenge of providing equal educational opportunities for gifted individuals to fulfill and promote their potential as positive contributing members of our school,
community, and the society at large.
To provide these individuals with “equal opportunities” to fulfill their exceptional talents and gifts the school, classroom, and professionals provide educational challenges that are aligned to meet students’ needs and draw upon their strengths to help them reach their full academic and creative potentials in the categories specified by Federal guidelines: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Intelligence, Academic Aptitude, Leadership, and Aptitude in Visual and Performing Arts.
